Our KA Vented Tapered dry bag (the bottom one in the photo) has a tough waterproof PU coating on the inside (where it won't get scratched) and slippery medium weight nylon on the outside. This combination makes it is easier to stow in kayak hatches and more durable than the ultra light weight dry bags made for the go light backpacking industry. These drybags have a one-way vent valve so you can compress them after sealing the fold-down top. Compressing the excess air out makes the bags even easier to slide into your kayak, and they waste less space too. They also have a fold-down top with the Super-Seal Closure (Vinyl Coated Webbing) that makes it easier to fold the top down neatly and gives a dryer seal than plain webbing. Seams are radio-frequency welded by a US manufacturer with over 30 years of testing and reliability behind them.

After getting frustrated by dry bags that don't last or are sticky plastic on the outside, we started having these bags made special just for us. Then everyone wanted them, so here you go.

Our KA Vented Tapered Drybag is only available in one size, but you can roll it down to make it smaller. It will fit through a 10" KayakSport hatch like on the bow of WS Tempest kayaks and NDK kayaks. It is also about as big a bag as will fit through an oval VCP hatch, which makes it the perfect dry bag for the bow of any sea kayak. We recommend using this bag for stowing most of your extra clothes, especially those that you won't likely need until you get to camp.

For kayak camping trips, we recommend putting about half your clothes in the KA Vented Tapered Drybag, most of the rest of your clothes in one of our Medium sized Vented Flat Drybags or our X-Long Small Dia. drybag, and a wool hat and down vest in one of our Small sized Vented Flat Drybags (keep that bag in your day hatch or buckled in behind your seat so it will be handy at lunch etc.) Our rectangular KA Vented Flat Drybags are under a separate item numbers, click the "Continue Shopping" button to see them.
